Freshug Nursing Pillow - Launch Film

From raw product images to a fully realized baby-led campaign using a hybrid AI workflow

The Backstory

Freshug, a homegrown newborn accessories brand, wanted to create a product launch video for their new product – Nursing Pillow for Newborn.

The concept required featuring a baby, which traditionally makes production both challenging and resource-intensive. Working with newborn talent often involves logistical constraints, limited shoot windows, and compliance considerations.

This made it a strong case for exploring an AI-led approach.

That said, creating a natural, believable video using AI, especially with a baby character, is not straightforward. It requires careful control over visuals, consistency, and subtle human details.

In this project, I’ve broken down the complete process I followed to bring this video to life, from raw product images to a fully realized final film.

Raw Shoot Images

The process began with a basic product shoot.

These were clean, well-lit images of the pillow captured on a bed and in neutral setups. The focus here was not storytelling, but clarity:

  • Accurate colors

  • Fabric texture

  • Shape and structure

  • Multiple angles

These images served as the foundation for everything that followed.

AI-Generated Visuals

The raw images were then transformed into lifestyle visuals using a multi-step AI pipeline:

Nanobanana was used to convert product shots into more natural, context-rich imagery.

Seedream helped generate high-quality, photorealistic renders, introducing baby characters and human interaction.

ChatGPT was used throughout to craft precise prompts for consistency in style, lighting, and composition.

The goal here was realism, not “AI-looking” images.
Every output was guided to feel like a real photoshoot: soft lighting, natural poses, and believable environments.

Final Video

Once the images were ready, they were brought to life:

The visuals were fed into Kling AI to generate motion clips.

Again, ChatGPT was used to refine prompts for movement, transitions, and scene behavior.

Individual clips were then curated and stitched together.

Final polish included:

  • Editing in Premiere Pro

  • Motion refinement and compositing in After Effects

  • Pacing, music, and overall storytelling

The result is a complete product launch video that feels warm, real, and emotionally engaging, built from a minimal physical shoot and a strong AI-assisted pipeline.

Reflection

Working on this project reminded me that tools don’t define the outcome, intent does.

AI can generate visuals fast, but making them feel real still depends on taste, restraint, and attention to detail.

Even with powerful tools, the goal remains the same: to create something that feels simple, natural, and human. Because in the end,

“Realism isn’t just about how something looks, it’s about how easily you believe it.”
